Card sharing is taking the world by storm with the aid of various, Linux based satellite receivers. There is a whole different range of Linux satellite receivers available on the market today that enable its users to view paid, digital satellite services through their Internet connection.
I personally use an Openbox S11, this is quite an old box but it has proven to be pretty stable for me. There are many other Linux Satellite Receivers available such as Dreambox DM500, DM800 etc, a quick, google search will give you a better idea.
To be able to receive premium channels you need to have the correct software installed on your LINUX satellite receiver. If you have an open box it is already installed, and on dream boxes you will have to install the sharing protocol software yourself which is called CCcam.
This piece of software communicates directly with the CCcam Server that holds the premium satellite service subscription information. Every few seconds your television picture would usually be encrypted, but the CCcam software will communicate with the CCcam Server in real time and decrypt the premium channels by obtaining the encryption key in real time. All this happens behind the scenes, in milliseconds so that your viewing pleasure is not disturbed by freezing or glitching.
